Checking out a file downloads a copy of the file to your computer where you can edit the file. Meridian Project Portal also locks the file so that other users cannot change it while it is checked out to you. The parent document is not locked. Files that are checked out to you appear in the Checked out section in the My recent items view.
To be able to check out files, you must have the right to add files to the document.
To check out a file from the Documents view:
next to the file name that you want to check out. The File actions menu appears.
